To celebrate International Beaver Day, April 7th,  the Arts Council of Lake Oswego is teaming up with The Wetlands Conservancy, the only organization in Oregon dedicated to promoting partnerships to permanently protect and conserve Oregon wetlands, to launch the second annual exhibit of beaver-themed art.

The beaver is Oregon’s beloved state animal and the exhibit includes artwork of all kinds:  paintings, mixed media, fiber, ceramic, glass, stone, bronze, wood and other materials.  Pieces will focus on images of beavers alone, or in natural stream or wetland habitat.  There are approximately 100 artists participating in this traveling show that will tour throughout the state of Oregon. Along with the month long exhibition, there will be workshops, tours, and other activities around the city of Lake Oswego.  The purpose of the project is to highlight the aesthetic, ecological and cultural significance of the beaver. This exhibit will display original juried art as well as prints, cards, and other merchandise with beaver/wetland images, all benefiting The Wetland Conservancy and the Arts Council.
