  • Nicole has worked with arts and culture organizations throughout the northwest for more than two decades. Trained in curatorial practice and collections care, she has developed a host of exhibitions, contributed to publications, and worked with such institutions as Museum of Contemporary Craft (OR), Museum of Pop Culture (WA), Japanese American Museum of Oregon, and the High Desert Museum (OR). Nicole is a Lake Oswego Chamber Ambassador, and past board member of the Oregon Womens History Consortium and the Multnomah County Cultural Coalition.

  • Norah is from Washington DC and has worked in the arts since graduating college. She holds a BA in Art History with focus on Museum and Gallery Practice. Her experience extends from exhibition curation to program management. With a strong focus in community practice, she has worked to integrate visual art at music venues, as well as facilitate large scale murals in San Francisco, CA, where she lived for the past ten years. Norah founded The Midway Artist Studio Residency, which won the 2023 Anthem Small Biz Spotlight award, and has been leading that program since its origin in 2019

  • I am a Jewish artist, poet, and new mother based in Portland, Oregon. My interdisciplinary practice contains drawings, sculpture, poetic text, html web pages and textiles. As within hypnagogic (dream-like) states, object, action, sensation, and language interchange freely in my work. Much of what I create, whether visual or written, values the marginal and is less conventionally legible. My creative practice is driven by dreaming and play, yet responds to, and at times subverts current cultural realities.

My work has been exhibited at Artists Space (NY), Shanaynay (Paris), PICA, The Whitney Biennial 2017 (NY), a light bulb store, an orchard, MoMA (NY), and many other conventional and less conventional venues for experiencing art. I am the recipient of grants from the Oregon Arts Commission, Regional Arts & Culture Council, and Foundation for Contemporary Art, among others. I have attended several residencies including Anderson Ranch and Ken Kesey’s Farm. My work has been featured in Art Forum, Art Practical, Art Viewer, e-flux, W Magazine & Vice. My website is an ever changing and inconclusive log of my work: www.mmmo.info

Meanwhile, for over 16 years I’ve cared for art and worked directly with artists in a variety of contemporary arts & municipal spaces, and have contributed my working artist’s perspective to these often insular spaces. My dedication to working within the arts is centered by a personal ethos—to protect vulnerable, idiosyncratic forms and their representation in society. My professional experience includes exhibition and project management, temporary art projects, award programs, large scale art purchases, production of publications, and event planning. In this work, I’ve connected with people from widely differing backgrounds and who hold differing views of what art is and who art is for. I enjoy cultivating relationships with artists, writers, and creative thinkers who identify as emerging, marginalized, highly acclaimed, interdisciplinary, traditional, and/or contemporary, as well as non-artists, people in elected offices, libraries, public service, and community organizations.
