I Have Already Lived The Year - Recent Works by Mark Andres and Chris Knight

Mark Andres is a painter and filmmaker living in Portland, OR. His paintings suggest narrative, but belie a sense of space and time, presenting the viewer with scenes that combine past, present, and future. Andres’ work is several public collections across the Pacific Northwest including the Hallie Ford Museum of Art in Salem and the Portland Art Museum.

Chris Knight’s paintings offer a sense of narrative and discovery, often combining familiar imagery in an unfamiliar way. Viewers are encouraged to interpret these seemingly incongruent symbols according to their own understanding of the world. Knight holds a BA in Philosophy from Vassar College, a BFA in painting from PNCA, and both an MA and MFA in painting from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. His work is featured in the permanent collection of Portland Community College, where he has taught since 2005.
Presented by the Arts Council of Lake Oswego. Gallery hours are Tuesday - Friday, 11 am - 4 pm and by appointment.
