What We (Be)Hold:
Artspace’s Open Call for Submissions 2026
ATTENTION ALL ARTISTS: The Arts Council of Lake Oswego announces an open call for its upcoming exhibition: What We (Be)Hold. Artists residing in Lake Oswego, Portland, and the surrounding areas of Multnomah, Clackamas & Washington counties are encouraged to submit works for consideration.
Blackfish Gallery Director and founder of Common Ground Arts, Kendra Roberts, is the juror for this show. Describing the theme, Roberts writes:
“What We (Be)Hold embraces the spirit of what holds our focused attention, wonder, admiration, or spiritual contemplation, as well as what we keep, retain, or clutch close. Artists are invited to submit work in response to ideas around what we should be holding. What are we (be)holding? What or who is holding our attention? To what or whom are we beholden? How do we hold ourselves? How do we hold one another?”
Submissions are now open and will be accepted through June 30th, 2026. To submit, click here. Artists are invited to submit up to three pieces with a one-time $26 entry fee. Direct inquiries to Emma at intern@artscouncillo.org.
The exhibition will be on view from August 7th– October 30th, 2026 at Artspace, located at 380 A Avenue in Lake Oswego, Oregon.
