INDUSTRY: Old Spirits & New Spirits invites visitors to witness the industrial nature and processes involved to bring fine art works to life. The manipulation of metals, forming of molten glass, casting of molds using centuries-old techniques and materials like clay and wax, mesh with models produced from a desktop 3D printers, software to manipulate forms, and LED low-wattage sculptural light fixtures utilizing technology every step of the way. These old spirits combine with the new to create something not thought of or realized.

The exhibition features work from Lillian Pitt, Juno Lachman, and Ben Dye.

We invite the community to a closing reception for “INDUSTRY: Old Spirits & New Spirits” exhibition on May 6, from 5:30 to 7 PM. The reception will be at ARTspace Gallery, 380 A Avenue, Lake Oswego. Artists Lillian Pitt, Juno Lachman, and Ben Dye will be in attendance. Each artist will talk about their work, process, and mingle with attendees. Light refreshments will be served.

Lillian Pitt and Indigenous artist from the Portland area with ancestry in the Columbia River Gorge, will include work that focuses on creating contemporary fine art pieces that delight today’s art lovers, and at the same time, honor the history and legends of her people. Lillian’s hand-picked selections include mixed media, glass, metal, and jewelry. Lillian is no stranger to the City of Lake Oswego’s permanent public art collection - one of her pieces has been in the collection since 1997, along with other notable public art in the City of Portland, Hillsboro, The Dalles, and Vancouver, Washington.

Juno Lachman is a Portland artist that works in the field of art and architectural glass. Juno incorporates the natural environment in his kiln-formed pieces. taking real-life objects and transforming them into glass masterpieces that are playful and magical.

Ben Dye, another local artist has been a part of the Gallery Without Walls public art program for a number of years. He has a permanent piece in the City’s collection and a rotating piece on display until 2023. Ben enjoys designing iconic pieces that create a sense of shared identity, inviting people to engage with the art

All pieces in the exhibition will be for sale. The public is welcome to view the exhibition in person Tuesday through Friday from 10 to 5 p.m.
