Land Dance 1, People's Choice Award winner 2024

We’re so excited to announce the winners of the 2024 People’s Choice Award, Oregon artists Jennifer Kapnek and Mike Suri for LandDance 1.

LandDance 1 will now become part of the nationally recognized Gallery Without Walls permanent collection in the City of Lake Oswego. Thank you to KeyBank for sponsoring LandDance 1

Upcoming:
Gallery Without Walls Celebration
September 21, 2024

Also, thank you to all the community members who took the time to vote for this year’s People’s Choice nominees. The nominees included Joel Heidel for Walkabout, Scott Foster’s The Watcher, Sharon Warman Agnor’s Into the Mysteries, and Ben Dye’s work, Puro Corde.

A committee of city leaders, artists, board members, and residents chose the five nominees for the award. Five hundred eligible voters in Lake Oswego cast votes this year.

LandDance 1 combines Kapnek's vibrant use of color and Suri's boundary-pushing metalwork. You can visit this year’s People’s Choice winner at the corner of 3rd Street and A Avenue, near Artspace and City Hall. The piece will stay at its current location until it finds a permanent home in 2025 as part of the City’s permanent collection.

Gallery Without Walls, now in its 24th year, has evolved to include 26 on-loan works and over 54 permanent sculptures throughout Lake Oswego by artists of local, regional, and international acclaim. The public is invited to join us for the Gallery Without Walls Celebration on Saturday, September 21 where we will honor the People’s Choice winners.
